Dragon’s Dogma 2: Release dates, trailers, gameplay and more | Digital trends

In a world where even the smallest audience is catered for with sequels like Neo: The world ends with you and No more heroes 3, there is basically no game that does not have a chance to come back in some form. In one of the latest examples, a small but passionate fan base has been patiently waiting for a sequel to the very ambitious Drakens dogma. This action-RPG came out next to fierce competition in 2012, and although it had some great mechanics and systems plus a re-release, it never achieved mainstream success. When the creator and director went on to work on other games, this series was assumed to be dead for a long time.

As soon as Capcom announced that they would celebrate their 10th anniversary Dragon’s Dogma, fans immediately predicted the announcement of a sequel. After all, why else would they celebrate an anniversary for a franchise they did not intend to pursue? It turned out that we were all right. Dragon’s Dogma 2 finally being worked on. The excitement of this announcement has spread beyond the fans of the original, which makes many wonder why they would be excited about this sequel. For all that and more, here’s all we know about Dragon’s Dogma 2.

The unfortunate part of the announcement for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is that this is probably still far from clear. The biggest clue to this is that the game was not revealed with a trailer or even concept art, but with a T-shirt. Game director Hideaki Itsuno most recently worked on Devil May Cry 5, which was completely finished with the special edition at the end of 2020. It is possible that the development started Dragon’s Dogma 2 somewhere then, but even if it did, we still guess we would have about three more years before we get to see it.

The only message Itsuno had about the development was that “Everyone in the development team is working hard to create a game that we hope you will like. Please look forward to it!”

We have no confirmation on which platforms Dragon’s Dogma 2 will come about, but it will almost certainly be a multi-platform game for the current generation system. We expect both PS5 and Xbox Series X / S players to get it, and hopefully a PC version at the same time as it has become much more common. Based on how far away we expect it, do not wait for a PS4, Xbox One or Switch version.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 technically do not even have a trailer yet. Its revelation came during a special 10-year anniversary video for the first game held by Itsuno. In the video, he expresses his gratitude to all the fans and goes on to share some details about how the original title was created.

You can check out the video yourself, but it’s almost a short story about Itsuno’s career and inspirations. The whole thing is very interesting but not exactly related to Dragon’s Dogma 2.

At the end of the video, however, this is where they make their important announcement about Dragon’s Dogma 2 by revealing T-shirts with the game’s logo. Itsuno says he is “Sorry to wait. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is currently under development!”

While this may seem strange, this is not the first time Capcom has revealed a game in this way. Resident Evil 2: Remake was also revealed from the beginning via a T-shirt, so maybe this is a new marketing tactic for the company.

Who knows what this game will be about. It may or may not have any relation to the former, making it impossible to speculate at present.

Everything we know about Dragon’s Dogma 2 is that it will be developed on RE Engine, which has driven such titles as all Resident Evil games from 7 onwards, as well as the upcoming Street Fighter 6 and more.

When it comes to gaming, we hope that many of the things that made the first game so unique and memorable will return. The ability to scale any enemy and attack them is still a mechanic that is not often seen but incredibly tense and satisfying. Although most of the enemies were not exactly large in colossus, they were still large enough to make this mechanic exciting. Then there is the farmer system where you create your own NPC companion that other players can summon into their games to help them. These farmers can learn details about enemies and areas and give real advice to both you and everyone who called them.

Finally, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will hopefully expand on the first RPG and open world. The world in that game was incredibly dangerous, and the night was a really scary time to get caught up in the world. It was dark and not dark in video games, but realistically dark to the point that you could barely see a few meters in front of you if you had no light source. Monsters were evil, and you did not have much room to make mistakes.

If Dragon’s Dogma 2 is like the first, multiplayer will be completely asynchronous. But if they want to go beyond just the peasant system and actually let players merge, then we would be all for it. At least multiplayer will probably be an optional feature, much like it is in Souls games.

We are several years away Dragon’s Dogma 2, unfortunately, so it will be a long time before pre-orders are open. Whenever that time finally comes, however, we will make sure to share all the editions, prices and everything else you need to know here.
