Update [Thu 7th Jul, 2022 09:40 BST]: Spike Chunsoft has now released a brand new trailer that shows all the systems that come to the Made in Abyss RPG.

The beloved anime series has just returned for its second season, and it seems that the publisher is jumping on the bandwagon – and we do not blame them!

Singer Riko Azuna – whose music has been used in the Made in Abyss show and Re: Noll – has also been confirmed to sing the game’s final song, ‘light’. Here is what the singer had to say about her return:

This is Riko Azuna. As a fan of “Made in Abyss“I’m really honored to have the last theme for Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness. On a long and endless adventure, Riko and her friends have strong hearts and continue to move forward. I sang the song with all my soul as if to guide the story so that the fleeting little light would not go out. Even after playing the game, you can still feel the breadth of the abyss and the feelings of the adventurers that have been passed down from generation to generation. I hope you will be able to feel this when you listen to the song “light”. I’m really looking forward to the day when you can play the game!

You can watch the brand new trailer below and check out all the information about locations like “Deep in Abyss”, the cities, the characters and the main story, in the article below.

Original article [Tue 5th Jul, 2022 10:30 BST]: Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness coming to Switch on September 2nd! This action RPG, which recreates the events of the Made in Abyss manga / anime series universe, has two different story modes – one follows the main characters Riko and Reg as they travel into the abyss, and another that sees you become a new “Bell”. “cave trader.

Now Spike Chunsoft has provided more information about the second mode, called “Deep in Abyss”, which we covered short in April. Alongside this new mode, where you collect relics and earn rewards to help develop your character in an original story, the publisher has also detailed more of the upcoming game’s skills and locations.

Here are all the details from Spike Chunsoft’s press release:

The story begins
The main character joins the Belchero Orphanage as a budding “Bell” Cave Raider. For lessons and training, the main character joins the other three students, Raul, a boy who is always full of energy, the quiet and insignificant Tiare, and Dorothea, who is a bit of an airhead. A few months later, the four finally see the day of their first exploration as “Red Whistles”, but there they are already confronted with the harsh reality of Abyss …

The game Bike
In “DEEP IN ABYSS” mode, players will challenge Abyss as a new Cave Raider. While enjoying an original story, move on through the main quests, collect relics and complete various quests to earn rewards such as money and experience to develop your character. As you gain experience, Cave Raider’s level will increase, and the player will be able to challenge deeper levels in Abyss.

Prepare for raiding / The Town of Orth
In the city of Orth, the base of the Cave Raiders, prepare to challenge Abyss by taking on missions and buying necessities for your raid. As an apprentice “Red Whistle” you will mainly get your missions from Jiruo at Belchero Orphanage, but as your Whistle level increases, so will the number of quests you can get. The city of Orth has the following facilities.

Guild HQ
This is the headquarters of the organization that provides work to the Cave Raiders. Different assignments can be accepted.
2 Accessory store
A shop that sells necessities for cave pleading. In addition to picks, clothes and consumables are sold here.
3. Relic assessment
A store that values and buys relics from The Abyss. Get money and experience here.
4. Laffis Butik
A spice shop run by Hablogg’s wife Laffi. Buy food and spices here.

Raidering the Abyss
The main objectives within Abyss are main missions where an original story takes place, guild missions that are accepted at Guild HQ and the collection of relics. The main character has three attributes: “physical strength”, “fullness” and “endurance”. Both fullness and endurance decrease when taking action. Endurance recovers automatically, but to recover satiety you need to eat. It is important to eat regularly to maintain satiety, as endurance cannot be restored while fullness is zero.

Raiding the Abyss means avoiding dangers such as savage creatures and unstable terrain. When defeated by a large creature, they provide a devastating “game-over” performance.

In addition to the three statuses, the player must take into account many other factors when plundering the abyss, including the surrounding environment, the health of the main character, the amount of food left, the durability of tools and the importance of necessities. The player must be aware of these factors and act properly, regardless of whether he decides to continue the raid, return to the surface and sometimes even what to take back.

After reaching his goal in the abyss, the attacker must return to the surface. But the further the attacker goes down, the effects of “The Curse of the Abyss”, physical and mental burdens, become more intense as they return to the surface. Raiders may vomit, experience a significant reduction in fullness or get blood splatter from the body resulting in a decrease in fullness and endurance. In addition to “The Curse of the Abyss”, they may be attacked by creatures, the terrain may have changed or features that were on the way down may not be available on the way back, forcing them to find another way back.

If you’re a fan of the show and / or manga, this is a game you do not want to miss, and it looks extremely true to the sweet but dark story told by Akihito Tsukushi.
